90 years of College football in México

Pumas football team from the national university of México celebrated the foundation of the team in 1927 with a commemorative game against a selection of European college teams: The European Warriors.

It was a very competitive game since the begining the Nationa University of Mexico team was able to move the chains and find the Touchdown with a pass from QB Arenas and a missed field goal. In the next drive the Eropean warrios scored a 33yard Field Goal te close the gap 6-3.

At the end of the first quarter the Eropean Warriors defensive team forced a fumble returned to a TD, and teh visiting team had a 7 point lead.  In the next drive local team showed strong running game in the sides of the OL, but the drive ended with a intercepcion of CB n.10 from the European Warriors. 

In the next drive the European Warriors run a 40 yard rush wth their RB Hence Ja from Cech Republic and did the 2 point convertion. At  the end of the first half the Warriors were up by 3 points.

In the second half Pumas both teams had a QB change. The UNAM QB showed a good performance  finding the WR 81Andres Salgado.  Also he had interesting plays running the ball himself.  In the other hand the Warriors were not able to perform  good game with the new QB N. 2 they were stoped in 3 oportunities and out in a couple of drives. This led the scoreboard to a 35-17 lead by Pumas UNAM. 

The warriors answered sending againt their starter QB Connor to lead the offense, and he did it really well, they connecting a 50 yard pass with the french WR N.88 that drive ended in a TD for the Warriors , that were back in the game. In the next drive QB Connor connected a 45 yard pass that ended in TD. By then the score was 35-32. 

The Pumas QB was interecepted and there were only less than a minute in the clock. It was a 4th down an 15 yards to go. QB Connor threw the last  pass of the game that was intercepted by the DB of Pumas UNAM.

Raptors Get Back on Track After Beating Fundidores

This time, the show was in charge of the Raptors and the Monterrey Fundidores. The last time these teams met, the Fundidores won by one point and the Raptors were looking forward to take revenge in this match. The first productive series came from the Fundidores side commanded by N. 12, Roberto Vega, who marched down the field with poise and making connections with WR Luis de la Torre, N. 14,mixing well with short runs by Alberto Espinosa, N. 33. The Raptors defense looked lost and committed key penalties  –  offside and pass interference  –  that allowed the Fundidores to continue with the possession of the ball. Fundidores are Eliminated after Hosting Mayas in Last Week of LFA, Regular Season

Mayas 33-14 Fundidores Fundidores were eliminated in the last game for them in LFA Mexican football league, 2nd season. They said goodbye with a 2-5 record that leave the northern mexican city unhappy about the results during the season. On their  travel to Mexico City, the Mayas showed why they are the best football team until now. They finished with a 1-6 record. Only losing against the Eagles in week 1. After that, all has been wins for the Mayas, and this afternoon was not the exception. Mayas started strong, in the  first drive, Marco García QB, N. 12, found Josué Martínez, N. 81, for a TD.  In the second quarter, the advantage increased with a 18-yards TD with a pass to Raul Ríos and, afterwards, Josué Martinez scored again. The game was 20-0 for the visitors. Part of the importance of this result was that Mayas showed a strong secondary defense, since they neutrailized the best Fundidores
