After beating 26-13 the LA Rams as visitors the Falcons dream with another year in the Superbowl. They were the lowest seed in the NFC. So they are visitng the No.1 The Eagles from Philly. The Falcons have showed improvement in the end of the season. They beat divisional rivals and they made it to the playoffs in a really competitive division. They went to LA and beat the Rams and the defense were able to stop a potential MVP Tod Gurley. And the offense scored more than 20 points. Se , they are flying Philly with a high hope and with a great possibility to be in the NFC Championship game, when they could face the Saints or the Vikings. In the other hand, the N.1 First seed the Eagles (13-3) are had a week off and are ready to show why they stood in that place. However, after the Carson Wenz injury, they Eagles have not been the same. And they finished their regular season at home losing against the Cowboys. Nick Foles is a good back up QB. Mexico's NFL game is decided: LA Rams vs Kansas City chiefs This information was revealed by ESPN.  2018 will be the third consecutive game of regular season. Preceded in 2017 with the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots, and in 2016 the Oakland Raiders and the Houston Texans. Both editions of the game in Mexico have been seen with good eyes for the NFL and that is why the agreement of the league to keep having the games in Mexico. The two formed editions the Azteca Stadium was full until the end of the game. Even in the game Raiders Patriots, where the Raiders could not stop Patriots offense and were outscored 33-8. So, the reception of the games have been really well since 2016. But, in those cases they were teams were famous in Mexico, specially the Raiders, and of course the Patriots, since all of the bandwagons known in Spanish as villamelones.   This year, the Rams and the Chiefs will visit Mexico. The playoffs are set and ready to go. The Atlanta Falcons will visit the LA Rams, the relocated franchise have made it to the playoffs in the second year in LA, and have clinched their division since 2003. Are they contenders? Can the defense stop Matt Ryan and Atlanta offense and make their way to the Divisional match up against the Eagles? However their offensive production is not the same as last year when they made it to the Super Bowl. And they will face one of the most dangerous offensive in the NFC. The LA Rams has MVP Candidate Todd Gurley and second year Jard Goff with a talented options of wide receivers. In my opinion, the balanced offense of the LA Rams will take the game and will face the Eagles in the next game.

For the third time in this NFL 2017 season the Saints and the Panthers will face. But now it will be postseason, wild card match up. The Carolina Panthers are visiting the New Orleans Saints, the champions or their division. It is interesting that this year the NFC has in playoffs three of the NFC south division; the Saints, the Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons. And this time the panthers come from losing against the Falcons with a really erratic Cam Newton. However the panthers offense cannot be discarded. The Kansas City Chiefs will recieve the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Wildcard round in Arrowhead Stadium. The Titans defeated the Jaguars 15-10 in week 17 to finish with a 9-7 record. In the other hand, the Chiefs win over the Broncos, with their rookie QB Mahomes, 27-24 and won the AFC West with a 10-6 record. It will be an interesting AFC match up. Besides the Kansas City wining record, the team show many doubts. After starting the season winning their 5 games and being the last undefeated team they started losing their effectiveness int he game against the Steelers. After that game they lose 5 games in row and had to win the division title against the Chargers who started 0-4 and had many problems in their special teams.  The Kansas City are not the same who started the season with a win over the Patriots . Will be a team who struggled to win a division with teams that have several problems.  If that is not enough  The Titans edged the Chiefs by a 19-1

The 2017 NFL season is over, and the voting for most valuable player are on. The top of the voting is for Tom Brady. The second place would be for Tod Gurley who has a 1,305 yards and 13 TD and other 788 recieving yards for a total of 2,093 yards. We think that Gurley have to be MVP. Also his performance has helped the LA Rams to be back in play offs and be divitional champions since 2003. As you can see in this NFL total access comparison between the Adrian Peterson's MVP season and the 2017 Todd Gurley season, we can see that Todd Gurley is similar.  However, is difficult for RB to win this kind of awards, over QB, and there are other QB MVP candidates, among them: Tom Brady, Carson Wenz, Drew Brees and even Case Keenum.  Only time will tell. 

The Super Bowl champions; The Patriots host the Atlanta Falcons in  Sunday Night Football prime time game. It was expected to be a tight game with many points by two teams. Although, it was not, it was a game dominated by the Patriots-. In a foggy night at Foxborough the Patriots beat the Falcons 23-7. In the first half they outscored Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense, who struggled all the game to move the chains. The Patriots looked confident, moving the ball, they had passing game and rushing game alternating Giliselle and Lewis. As every week Brandon Cooks was a major target for Tom Brady. And young Falcons defense could not stopped them.  However, the heroes of the night was Patriots defense, who were ranked in the bottom of the NFL defense and were able to stopped Falcons offense, who was exactly the same offense that the SuperBowl one, except for Kyle Shannahan, who is having his problems in San Francisco. Now, both winner teams in week 1 face each other in a new stadium, adapted for football LFA in Naucalpan, Mexico State  (10 miles from Mexico City.) This stadium willl be the house of the Raptors from Mexico State. Dinos from Satillo won in what it seems to be an easy game for them. They had multiple-TD passes; an interception returned to TD; and a great defense that was able to pressure the QB. On the other hand, the Raptors had a demanding game against the Condors. They were tied with just 6 points in the first half. Then, QB, Bruno Marquez was able to make some interesting plays, he scored a TD and won the game. The keys for the game will be for Saltillo defense to press the QB, and keep a spy, because Bruno Marquez is a really mobile QB. Until now, Saltillo is the strongest team in the north, it used to play under the sun with high temperatures. Mayas and Condors were both losing teams in week 1, LFA Mexican Football League. Mayas, the champions, lost against the Eagles, and Condors lost against the Raptors from Naucalpan, Mexico State. Both teams will be looking for a victory, not to start the season 0-2. In the case of Condors, they must play the way they did it in the first half of the game against the Raptors. During the second half, they were able to score the  TD of the victory. Besides that, coach Zapata stated that he felt confident about the performance of the team, and they were confident to make adjustments looking forward to the game with Mayas. Mayas showed a good performance in special teams and running game with their RB Cojolum. On the other hand, when they give time to QB Marco García to throw, he usually finds someone open. As a prediction, I think it will be a really closed game, where defensives will be the main factor.  I will give the victory to Condors 17-10.

One of the most interesting matchups in LFA, Mexican football league, week 2, will be the (1-0) Eagles visiting the (0-1) Fundidores at Tecnológico Stadium, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon (northern Mexico,) on Sunday. What makes this matchup so stimulating? Here we go: Fundidores started this season visiting the Dinos in Saltillo, Coahuila. They lost 33-16 against the Dinos. They did not have their dreamed debut, the coach and the players confirmed that. In the city, there was a great expectation about what former college players, from the best univerisities in the area, would do in professional football.  They also had some problems with their OL; at the same time, in many plays QB Roberto Vega threw under pressure. This weekend started the Mexican Football League LFA. There was a great expectation of the second season of the league. There were new teams on the north, new players, and more media coverage. And we were expecting to be more professional. In this post I will point out some of the hits and problems that the league had in general during the first week. As a hit, I believe that diversifying the location of some teams will allow more people to go to these games in different cities such as in Saltillo, Monterrey or Naucalpan. The matchups were really intresting and most of them were fun and entertaining. That is the main point of this league and sport. And finally, I saw some improvement in the way players performed. The same players looked in a high level of game phisically and mentally. On the other hand , there were problems with the organization and the staff. First of all, the streaming was failing. In the case of Mexico, a new professional league appeared last year with four teams (Raptors, Condors, Eagles, and Mayas) in Mexico City.  This 2017 season, two teams will be added: Fundidores, from Monterrey,  and Dinos, from Saltillo. Both of them are from major cities in northern Mexico, where football is really important. But, how this league came to appear? Well, Mexico has a stong tradition of american football since the 1950's. There are two college leagues  –  ONEFA and CONADEIP.  –  Both leagues play at a level of an NCAA division II or III. Even the Olympic Stadium of 1968 was built before for football games. It is part of a college tradition in Mexico to be part of a football team. There was a time that baseball along with american football were the main sports in the country.
