A new hope for San Francisco 49 ers

Imagen
As the San Francisco   49 ers are back on track, they won against the Jacksonville jaguars their 4th game in row. The y have had a misery in past seasons. And after they started 0-9 this season . It has been a tough season. And they will probably have a high draft pick.  But after the Niners win against AFC South division champion Jacksonville, there's a genuine belief in the Bay Area in the idea that with Garoppolo at quarterback for the Niners (5-10) in the future, all things are once again possible. And also with coach Kyle Shanahan ( super bowl offensive cooridnator with the Falcons) many fans think they are ready to be contenders this season. So the new hope with Shanahan-Garoppolo is real. But they are not the only who are improving in San Francisco, also the deffense and the running game have improved.  "I always felt like we could have won a bunch of games " RB  Hyde  said. And indeed they were losing their games by a small difference.  In the last g

The Super Bowl champions; The Patriots host the Atlanta Falcons in  Sunday Night Football prime time game. It was expected to be a tight game with many points by two teams. Although, it was not, it was a game dominated by the Patriots-. In a foggy night at Foxborough the Patriots beat the Falcons 23-7. In the first half they outscored Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense, who struggled all the game to move the chains. The Patriots looked confident, moving the ball, they had passing game and rushing game alternating Giliselle and Lewis. As every week Brandon Cooks was a major target for Tom Brady. And young Falcons defense could not stopped them.  However, the heroes of the night was Patriots defense, who were ranked in the bottom of the NFL defense and were able to stopped Falcons offense, who was exactly the same offense that the SuperBowl one, except for Kyle Shannahan, who is having his problems in San Francisco. Amazing TNF Raiders beat the Chiefs

The AFC West is moving, the Oakland Raider are not in the bottom of it, while the Chiefs still in the top, they mat be worried of having the second game lost in row.  This Thursday Night game started week 7. As we expected it was a great game with many points a and big plays. Derek Carr had a prominent night, he threw 417 yards, and Raiders had a total of 505 yards. It was really important for the Raiders to show that their offensive game still strong with the diversify of their  passing game with Carr,  supported by a strong RB. Although Marshawn Lynch was ejected from the game, the Raiders handled it well with Washington. Also , in the other side of the ball, the sign of Navarro Bowman, LB coming from the 49 ers added a strong component f the Raiders defense. It was a very equal game. The Chiefs had 425 total yards and Alex Smith threw 331 yards. As always the playmakers from the chiefs had an important night; Tyrek Hill, Kareem Hunt, and Travis Kelce were major targets for Alex

Divisional round game. Both teams lost their previews games, Kansas City Chiefs against the Steelers in arrowhead and the Okland Raiders lost it against the Chargers  The AFC standings may change with the result of this prime time game. The Raiders will be looking forward to getting out from the bottom of the division, where the Chargers were before week 6. In their other hand the Chiefs will try to recover from Sunday loss at home and demonstrate they are in the top 1 of standings in the NFL. This is not going to be easy, since many defensive coordinators have found the manner to stop Kansas city offense and neutralize Kareem Hunt and Tyrek Hill. In the game against the Steelers the Chiefs had problems moving the ball. So Andy Reid must find new ways to move the ball in offense. In the other hand, the Raiders will try to overcome the injury of their QB Derek Carr.  Manuel has not done a bad job, but  has not adapted to the offensive system designed for Carr. The hope for the

SNF Inauguration of Falcons new stadium: Atlanta wins

Huge win for the Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan an his teams scored 34 points in the inauguration day of the new Mercedes Benz stadium, Devonta Freeman ran for 84 yards, and Matt Ryan threw for 252 yards. Falcons send a strong message for the NFC. They are back to be super bowl contenders by leading their division. What is interesting about the Falcons defense, is that they have more experience than last year, is a young defense, in this game they rush the QB Aaron Rodgers, had two turnovers and keep to line Greenbay offense.  Besides that, Falcons defense still carring the shame of blewing a 25 point lead in the superbowl LI in Houston Texas against the Patriots. Atlanta defense look strong, but still have the challenge to keep that level in the 4th quarter. Photo by esto In the other hand, the Green Bay packers had a long Sunday night. Aaron Rodgers couldn't move the chanis, Jordy Nelson was out for an injury, Ty Montgomery was no able to run the ball he just ran for 35 y

America's Game of the week: Cowboys @ Denver

Mile High Stadium Before the game stopped due to a thunder storm, the Broncos started with a strong offense leaded by Trevor Sieman, second year. Since the beginning they established the running game with healthy C.J Anderson and Jamal Charles that came this years from the Chiefs. Also Trevor Siemean found their WR Thomas and Sanders and worked well with the TE. The Broncos had the domain from the beginning to the end, the Broncos defense just allowed 15 yards for one of the best RB in the league Ezekiel Elliot, the Broncos defensive backs, Harris Jr, Talib covering Cowboys WR and constantly  rushing Dak Prescott. Prescott threw two interceptions, were sacks by Von Miller two times and overthrew passes.  Also, the possession time was for the Broncos. Long drives and many 3rd down conversions and an effective clock management. There is no doubt that Broncos offense has improved since last year, and the defense still in the top 10 of the league, since the SuperBowl 50. They

Brady back on track: over 400 yards; Saints a difficult season start

Imagen
New Orleans, Louisiana After loosing in week 1 at home against the Kansas City Chiefs, the New England Patriots had a new opportunity to show how Bill Bellichik adjust the team and how Tom Brady came back throwing over 400 yards to an always weak saints defense. Tom Brady had several targets through the game, Cook, Gronkovski and Hogan. The patriots now feel more confident looking forward week 3, when they will receive the Houston Texans (1-1). Phto by gettyimages In the other hand, the New Orleans Saints (0-2) struggled again with the defense. They allowed more than 500 yards. In the other side of the ball. The saints made 429 total yards. Besides that they were not able to compete or to be close to the Patriots. As in every season. The Saints must improve their defense if they want to compete in their divition, that look strong. Because by now they are at the bottom of it.

TNF Texans: a new offense? Bengals a dificult path

Imagen
Thursday Night Football from Cincinnat i  Ohio Both teams Houston Texans, and Cincinnati Bengals opened the season loosing against divisional rivals. The Texans lost the opening game at home against the Jacksonville jaguars 29-7, the OL allowed 10 sacks, 7 to Tom Savage and 3 to Rookie Deshaun Watson, out of Clemson. In the other hand the Cincinnati Bengals had troubles in their opening game too, against the Baltimore Ravens they finished the game 20-0 and terrible numbers for Andy Dalton and A.J Green. And both have deadly turnovers. Both teams had problems moving the chains, offense were limited and seem to have no many options, so the game became boring because both offenses were not advancing. It would seem that the game was more defensive, but it was not. Offense were terrible. Photo by hollywoodlife.com But for the Texans there was some hop with Watson as a starter, the only TD  they scored was by an improvised running TD, but the rookie QB showed his ability to r

September 10th Dallas offense look strong, the lone star team showed a balanced offense, with Dak Prescott (4) as srtarting QB and second year Ezekiel Elliot as RB. Passing and running game seemed functional, by the end of the first half cowboys were up by 16 points. Dallas defense, with a renewed  secondary DB was able to keep  Giants offense with only 3 points. The renewd defense did their job. In the other side of the ball, Eli Manning had his 200th straight game a starter. Althought they had problems stablishing their offense, also, Odell Beckham Jr was out for an injury in the ankle.  In 2016 season, they won the serie 2-0 aginst the cowboys. But this time they had more problems in the oppening game. Just in the first half Eli Manning had 33 passing yards. In the second half, the Giants made some adjustements, but they were stopped in the first drive of the second half and scored a FG and those were the only points in the scoreboard. Cleveland Browns a new hope?

Imagen
The Browns were the worst team in the NFL 2016 season, that why they earned the first pick in the 2017 draft. They chose Miles Garret from Alabama ad DE, and Deshone Kizer from Notre Dame in the top picks. In this week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers showed an acceptable performance loosing 21-18 in Cleveland. They had their opportunity and they were able to show their rookie QB a hope for a better 2017 campaign. Photo: Deshone Kizer from sports ilustrated But, not everything is hope for the browns, OL allowed 7 sacks during the game. Last season Cleveland Browns were the team that allowed more sacks. If they want to improve they will need to do a best job protecting their QB and give them more time to find their recievers. Defensive front from Cleveland made an acceptable job. In the first half were able to stopped steelers running game, caracterized by a strong OL and good RB, Le'veon Bell. Besides that, they allowed Ben Roethlisberger to throw 255 yards and 3 TD.

Strong Kansas City offense or poor Patriots defense?

Imagen
The 2017 NFL season just started yesterday. The first game Kansas City visiting the New England Patrios in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The patriots were expected to win by 9 points. But the Kansas City chiefs shocked the Patriots 42-27. In the first half, the Patriots were leading 17-7 but after halftime the chiefs started a comeback. The stars in the Chiefs were Alex Smith who had 368 yards with 4 TD. And the Rookie RB out of Toledo, Kareem Hunt, besides he fumbled on his first carry in the game, he recovered and scored 3 Touchdowns. In the other hand, the New England patriots had a good first half and established a strong offense running back Mike Gillislee had three touchdowns of his own, but the Patriots couldn't match the Chiefs' pace and fell at home to open the season. Tom Brady had 287 yards and no TD. The problem was not on the offense, it was in the defense, they allowed 42 points and coach Bill Bellichick admitted it after the game. "Bad defense, bad

QB battles in 2017

Few teams in the NFL are having troubles in designing their oppener QB, some of them drafted a QB, the other adquire them by the free agency and are fighting this pre season for the oppening job. In Houston Tom Savage is looking to hold off rookie Deshaun Watson for the starting position.. In Denver the second-year challenger Paxton Lynch against, also second year Trevor Siemian. For the Bears, it’s veteran Mike Glennon, traded from the TB Bucanners versus first roudn pick Mitchell Trubisky, and in Cleveland, it’s a three-way battle with second year Cody Kessler, Brock Osweiler traded from the Houston Texans, and rookie DeShone Kizer from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Finally the  Jets quarterback position could be interesting with Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg pushing Josh McCown for the job. .

Why NFL Pre season is so boring?

NFL pre season is design to have four pratice games. It suposed to be for rookies and other members of the team to earn their place as starters. That is really important, but , the training camp and a couple of games would be enough to determine that. In my opinion it might take only a quarter or two of exhibition football and wait until real football is back in September. In the other hand, the games does not count, the startrers and the stars of the game barely play, the score doesn´t count  and most of the time is unuseless to watch it. Also, the stadiums are empty. Pre season football is even worse than the pro Bowl. The only reason to watch pre season games would be for the Quarterback battles, key depth chart battles, free agency additions and watch the noew coaches and systems. In my opinion is useless and boring... keep playing Madden

#BlackoutNFL

Football is not away from politics. In season 2016  the fromer 49 ers QB Colin Kapernick decided to kneel during the national anthem in protest for the police brutality against black people. Sonce then Kaprenick has been benched and after beeing realased from the 49ers he has not being signed by any other teams in the league. Allegedly by the owners that doesnt want to get invovled in politics or with ulltra nationalist fans. However, there is a new movement calling for boycott the NFL. #BlackoutNFL. In recent days, a video has been circulating on social media black men—covering their favorite NFL jerseys with a black T-shirt, protesting for Collin Kaprenick not being signed by any team. And that will be the question. The NFL owners are giving a deterrance with Colin Kaprenik? Warning all the players that they should behave in certain way? That definitely restricts the freedom of speach. You can watch the video in the folowing link : https://youtu.be/HuEY9imwkfU The #BlackOut
