Difficult Horizon for Condors, Lost 64-16 Against the Mayas


The Condors (0-2)  team lost this sunday against the Mayas. Both losing teams in week one were looking desperatly for a victory. Both teams looked well in their oppening games, and Condors lost in a closed score. It was expected to be a closed game. Condors and Mayas seemed strong, but the Mayas easily defeated the Condors in all the three teams.

Mayas offense was funcitonal, and it improved from that of week 1, where QB Marco García had problems finding open receivers. In this match, the passing and rushing game worked as it was expected. Marco García found the American Aaron Wiliams in several ocations for a two-TD passes in the first half.
Condors defense had a difficult  afternoon trying to stop the Mayas offense, and at the end of the game allowed 64 points. Condors offense had an acceptable start, but they were not able to stablish an operant offense during the game. The coach changed QB in three times: Arturo Sánchez; Salvador Castañeda; and César Moulinie, the last two had interceptions.

All in all, the ghost of the last season came back, Condors are (0-2,) and next week they are facing the undefeated Eagles (2-0) that have big dreams. It is time for Condors to wake up.

Raptors Get Back on Track After Beating Fundidores

This time, the show was in charge of the Raptors and the Monterrey Fundidores. The last time these teams met, the Fundidores won by one point and the Raptors were looking forward to take revenge in this match. The first productive series came from the Fundidores side commanded by N. 12, Roberto Vega, who marched down the field with poise and making connections with WR Luis de la Torre, N. 14,mixing well with short runs by Alberto Espinosa, N. 33. Fundidores are Eliminated after Hosting Mayas in Last Week of LFA, Regular Season

Mayas 33-14 Fundidores Fundidores were eliminated in the last game for them in LFA Mexican football league, 2nd season. They said goodbye with a 2-5 record that leave the northern mexican city unhappy about the results during the season. On their  travel to Mexico City, the Mayas showed why they are the best football team until now. They finished with a 1-6 record. Only losing against the Eagles in week 1. After that, all has been wins for the Mayas, and this afternoon was not the exception. Mayas started strong, in the  first drive, Marco García QB, N. 12, found Josué Martínez, N. 81, for a TD.  In the second quarter, the advantage increased with a 18-yards TD with a pass to Raul Ríos and, afterwards, Josué Martinez scored again. The game was 20-0 for the visitors. Part of the importance of this result was that Mayas showed a strong secondary defense, since they neutrailized the best Fundidores
